Tomáseen Foley's "Parcel from America"
An Irish Christmas Story
$20
Tomaseen Foley was born in the remote parish of Teampall an Ghleanntáin in the West of Ireland - - into the warm lap of the last generation of Irish people for whom storytelling was as natural as breathing, and at a time when the family was the center of the community and the community was the center of life itself.
Set at Christmas in the 1950s, Parcel from America is a story from that old communal way of life, when, it was said, that people could live only in the shelter of their neighbor.
featuring:
Tomaseen Foley, storyteller
William Coulter, guitar and bodhrán
Deby Benton Grosjean, fiddle
Todd Denman, uilleann pipes and whistle
Moira Smiley, vocals
Patricia O’Scannell, Irish whistle
Linda Keen, fiddle
• A Celtic Christmas - Flash Presentation with Voice Over
"This is an utterly charming, heartwarming folk tale."
The Cleveland Playhouse, Cleveland, Ohio

Tomáseen Foley's "The Priest & the Acrobat"
Stories and Music from the Irish Tradition
$20
Be it at wakes, weddings, christenings or funerals, so frequently does chaos rear its head in the day-to-day lives of the ordinary people in the remote parish of Teampall an Ghleanntáin that it becomes almost the natural order of things. Even Father Tom, the local parish priest of forty years standing, finds himself engulfed in it - - in the shapely form of a female acrobat who is performing with a visiting circus.
featuring:
Tomáseen Foley, storyteller
William Coulter, guitar,
Deby Benton Grosjean, fiddle
Todd Denman, uilleann pipes
• Priest and the Acrobat - Short Instrumental MP3
"Tomáseen Foley brings to his audience a mastery of the oral tradition that has marked the Irish spirit for generations. His stories . . . captivate with timeless truths of life that bridge the world from the crofter’s cottage to the American suburb.”
Robert Casebeer, Emeritus Professor of English,
Southern Oregon University, Ashland OR
